Joy In Hope - U.S. Staff

Kristi Daugherty
Kristi is the latest addition to the Joy in Hope ministry team.  She will be serving as the U.S. Director of Operations.

Joy In Hope - Haiti Staff

Danny & Leann Pye
Danny and his wife, Leann, first became missionaries to Haiti in 2004. Their first missionary assignment was located in the mountains where they were administrators at a Christian school in Seguin, Haiti. After one year, Danny and Leann relocated to Jacmel, Haiti to become the Directors of an existing orphanage.

The orphanage was established in 2000 but mainly relied on the daily involvement of local volunteers. When Danny and Leann came to the orphanage, there were 20 existing children who were living at the facility. Danny and Leann’s involvement represented a major change for the orphanage as they slowly made the transition from operating as an orphanage to operating as a home and family. After 6 months, the organization that founded the orphanage made the decision to transition out of Haiti and offered Danny and Leann the opportunity to take over the home. Following much prayer and consideration, Danny and Leann followed God’s leading and made a long-term commitment to raise and support the 20 existing children at the home. As a result of this commitment, Haitian Children’s Home (HCH) was born. Now a 501(C)3 organization, HCH is thriving and has increased the number of children from 20 to 21 over the past two years. In addition, Danny and Leann have one child of their own which raises their family total to 22.  Danny also serves on the Joy In Hope Board of Directors.


Nick & Gwenn Mangine
Nick and his wife, Gwenn, first became involved with HCH as the ministry’s stateside coordinators, initiating Haitian Children’s Home (HCH) successful child sponsorship program. Nick and Gwenn moved to Haiti in May 2009 in order to begin the process of opening the second HCH home that will accept an additional 20 children. Nick and Gwenn have three young children under the age of 7. 

Nick has also served on the Joy In Hope Board of Directors since 2007.  In his role as a Board Member, Nick assists with the financial aspect of the organization, managing funds and overseeing tax preparation. His professional experience includes several years of service on the elder board of Crosspointe Church, one of Joy In Hope’s largest supporting organizations.

Nixon & Sandra Altidor
Nixon and Sandra Altidor, Joy In Hope's Outreach Directors adminster The Boys’ Home program. They also act as guardians for the youth living in the home.






Mike & Georgette Rigel
Mike & Georgette are the newest addition to the Joy In Hope - Haiti ministry team.  They have served together in Haiti for several years and recently joined Joy In Hope as the organization's Development Managers.  Together they will oversee the development of Joy In Hope's seventeen acres of oceanfront property.

Brian has been a member of the Joy In Hope Board of Directors since 2009. 









Christa Jewett
Christa Jewett has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2006. She has been the Program Director for a non-profit organization that provides a boating safety education program since 2002. In her role as a Board member she provides insight into the operation and management of a non-profit organization, development of organization materials, fund-raising and marketing. She also has over 20 years of experience in playing and coaching soccer and works with Joy In Hope to coordinate sports-related evangelism outreaches.
