PAST SHORT-TERM MISSIONS
Team Faith Christian
June 1-5, 2009: This team was comprised of seven team members from Directors Danny and Leann Pye’s home church in Bradenton, Florida. They spent the week giving the Haitian Children’s Home a fresh and renewed look. They painted the outside walls of Haitian Children’s Home. They even repainted the Haitian Children’s Home sign on the outside gate. They did a wonderful job and the home looks like new. Faith Christian Church has been a long time supporting church to HCH and we are always blessed to have them visit us.
Team EMI
May 23-30, 2009: This missionary group is made up of engineers and architects that came to start making solid building plans for the Haitian Children’s Home Community Project. A group of people on the team acted as surveyors and spent dozens of hours on the land measuring and finding out the best place to situate the buildings. By the end of the week, this team was able to show beautiful 3D models through Powerpoint presentation on the orphanage buildings along with other future HCH buildings. It was both an encouraging and exciting week for all of us here at HCH.
Team Crosspointe College and Career
May 8-15, 2009: This team worked on the Boy’s Home. This is the first floor of the Rue Petion/Joy In Hope building located in Jacmel, Haiti. It was in bad need of painting. The team spent the week scraping out two coats of paint, along with some really bad mold. They were able to paint all the bedrooms, a smoke stained kitchen, and the dining room. Anthony, also on this team, was able to build badly needed shelves in the Altidor Home, Danny’s office, and the boy’s bedroom.

Team Liberty
April 11-21, 2009: This team was made up of some of the Mangine’s family and friends that are connected through volunteering at the Creation Festival throughout the years. This team did a great job preparing a home for the Mangine family who was making a move to Haiti to start the second home for orphan children under Haitian Children’s Home. Throughout the week they built a counter, re-did tile, painted walls, cleaned the inside, outside, and even cleaned a depot that had been used as a pigeons’ home. More importantly they encouraged, loved on, and prayed with the Mangine family and their future in Haitian Children's Home.
