the lost get found

From the time I was young, I always wanted to do great things for God. I also always wanted to go on adventures, to see things I hadn't seen, to learn things I had never known. My search was often in vain, as I tried to fill the God-sized hole in my heart with art, landscapes, and other forms of restless self-seeking. As a result, I ended up more lonely, miserable, and lost than ever before. It seemed like my wanderings had amounted to naught.

The line by J. R. R. Tolkien holds true, though; not all those who wander are lost, even those of us who wander in lustseeking creation in place of the Creator. Though I never knew where I was going, I was not far from God's mind. In fact, I was at the forefront, and He was always there to write straight with my crooked lines.

When I finally released the reigns on my life and let the Lord lead, He revealed the most amazing things to me: about myself, about the world in which we live, and - most wonderful of all - about His love & mercy. I desired to surrender my life entirely in service to my Maker, whatever that meant and wherever that took me, knowing and trusting and believing with every fiber of my being that this alone would lead to a life that could be said to be fully lived.

I never would have guessed that this would lead me to start a ministry: a mismatched, imperfect, pretty small one at that, but a ministry all the same, meaning that it would serve the Lord's purposes, and that this would be more than enough.

Thus far, these purposes have included a YouTube channel, podcast, and blog, as well as a presence on social media. That might seem insignificant, but it's a start. And who knows? Perhaps it has even grown by the point you're reading this.

I hope so, dear reader; I sincerely hope so. Because the bigger this gets, the greater glory God receives.

And that's what this is all about.

blessings in abundance,
