Irreverent Adoration
Yesterday in adoration, my toddler told my two-month-old (who was having a fit), “Don’t be sad, get a tattoo.” He then proceeded to pull his own pants down, grab himself, and insist, “I have an itch!” If only we were all so transparent before the Lord.

You are not what you do. For so long I’ve been afraid to be an official “stay-at-home” mom because I believed the lie that if I chose that path, everyone and everything would depend on me - my husband, my kids, cooking and cleaning, and it felt overwhelming and unattainable. There was certainly no joy in that desire, and it felt like a default option. I realized I was starting to view work outside the home as a means of escape from the overwhelm I felt at home. Redeeming Memory
Been there, done that - and not in a good way. When I think back on how I handled romantic relationships in high school, I am deeply ashamed. Like Adam and Eve in Genesis 3, I am tempted to hide these parts of my past - from God, from others, and even myself. I want to lock them up and throw away the key.
